Dog Advocacy Ireland are inviting ALL right-minded dog and animal lovers to join our non-profit organisation in forging meaningful change of mindset and policy on dog welfare protection in Ireland.

As a country we have a duty of care to all animals under the Five Freedoms:

 – From discomfort

 – From hunger, thirst and malnutrition

 – From disease and injury

 – To behave normally

 – From distress and fear

There are thousands of dogs on puppy farms in Ireland leading miserable lives so an overhaul of Ireland’s dog breeding legislation is necessary, beginning with simple reforms that would bring about long overdue and meaningful change.

I'm delighted to support the Dog Advocacy Ireland initiative. While there have been many advances for dog welfare in Ireland over the past 20 years we still have much to achieve, from better control of so-called puppy farms to more effective implementation of microchip and dog license legislation, and much much more besides. I'm very excited that this new group is going to tackle this proactively.

'Dog Advocacy Ireland is an amazing team of brilliant people who really care about the welfare of Dogs in Ireland. Dog welfare in Ireland is so far behind many other European countries and as a result many dogs are cruelly suffering unnecessarily. DAI takes into consideration not just the physical but also the mental wellbeing of dogs in Ireland. I am very proud and honoured to be able to give my professional and personal endorsement to DAI and feel there now is hope for dogs in Ireland

We are excited to support Dog Advocacy Ireland (DAI). We look forward to advocating their vision to raise dog and animal welfare standards in Ireland and eliminate abhorrent illegal puppy farms. We are particularly interested in challenges to bans on pet ownership in rented accommodation, encouraging tolerance towards those who consider their pets part of the family unit.

Dog Advocacy Ireland (DAI) looks like an exciting and much needed advocacy group designed to help tackle some of the main canine welfare issues in Republic of Ireland. I look forward to observing the work DAI undertake, and most importantly the progress they will hopefully make for our four-legged friends
