Dog Advocacy Ireland (DAI) will address dog welfare negligence in Ireland through effective, meaningful, collaborative engagement with the political system.

DAI’s overall objective is to influence and shape effective dog welfare policy, bringing animal welfare ‘centre-stage’ to see an end to decades of abhorrent disregard and abdication of statutory responsibility.

We’re strongly pressing for the creation of an All-Party, Parliamentary Dog Advocacy Group within the Oireachtas, which will inform, advise, discuss and guide legislative policy.

Bringing welfare for dogs in line with the Control of Dogs Act and the Animal Welfare Act, DAI will influence the glaring need for political and cultural mindset change.

We will engage with media to create sustained awareness on the inadequacies of current dog welfare in Ireland.

DAI wants to liaise with third level educational institutions to formulate a mandatory certifiable dog / animal welfare module.

DAI is an outwardly family friendly organisation with no place for militancy.

Adherance to values of constructive, friendly engagement in pursuit of meaningful dog / animal welfare policy is encouraged.
